Every profile is a cat, and posts are about cats.
Be kind: no cruelty, hate, spam, scams or fake votes.
You own what you post; you let us show it on Purrhood.
Adoptions are between you and the shelter. Purrhood isn't involved.
Delete your account any time. English and Welsh law applies.
1.About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and [CONTROLLER NAME — e.g. Andre Santos trading as Purrhood], [POSTAL ADDRESS] ("we", "us"), and apply to the Purrhood app and website. By creating an account you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.
2.Who can use Purrhood
You must be 16 or older to create an account. We may ask you to confirm your age, or use age checks where the law requires them.
You must give accurate sign-up details and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
One person may run several cat profiles, but every profile must be a real cat.
3.Cats only
Purrhood is for cats. Every profile is a cat, and posts should be about cats: photos, videos, stories and chat about your cat or cats you love. Humans, other pets and everyday life can appear in the background, but the cat should be the star. Off-topic posts may be removed.
4.Acceptable use
Please keep Purrhood kind and safe. Don't:
post anything illegal, harmful, hateful, sexual, violent or harassing;
post or encourage animal cruelty, neglect or dangerous "challenges" involving animals;
spam, run scams or sell animals (adoption posts must follow section 8);
share other people's personal information, or impersonate anyone;
use fake accounts, bots or bought engagement to win battles, challenges or fish gifts;
try to hack, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service.
5.Your content and licence
You keep ownership of everything you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and share it inside Purrhood and on share cards you create, for as long as it stays on the service. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people have already shared or that sit in short-lived backups.
Only post content you have the right to share. If you think something on Purrhood infringes your rights, email hello@purrhood.app.
6.Reporting and moderation
Use Report on any post, comment or profile. We review reports and may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that break these terms. When we act on your content we will tell you why, and you can ask us to look again by emailing hello@purrhood.app.
7.Cat Battles, challenges and prizes
Cat Battles and weekly challenges are for fun. Votes, likes, reactions and fish gifts have no cash value and cannot be bought, sold or exchanged. Some challenges are sponsored by a brand and offer a prize; these are clearly labelled Sponsored, and each has its own prize terms shown in the app (who can enter, how winners are chosen and how prizes are delivered). Those prize terms apply alongside these terms. Apple, Google, Instagram, TikTok and X are not involved in any promotion.
8.Rescue & Adopt
Rescue & Adopt shows cats listed by shelters we have verified. Purrhood is not an adoption agency, is not part of any adoption and never charges shelters. Adoption is entirely between you and the shelter, under the shelter's own process. We check shelters when they join but cannot guarantee the accuracy of listings or the outcome of any adoption. Please don't use Purrhood to sell or rehome animals privately.
9.Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Privacy & data. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or where the law requires it. We will usually warn you first, unless that would put others at risk. We may change or stop features, and will give reasonable notice of anything major.
10.Liability
Purrhood is a free service provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running and safe, but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We are not responsible for content posted by other users, or for losses that were not foreseeable.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11.Changes to these terms
If we make meaningful changes we will tell you in the app and ask you to review them. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
12.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or in your local courts if you live elsewhere in the UK or the EU.
